The Specialization in Health Administration and Management is only offered in German: HAM-Programm
What is Health Administration and Management?
Public Health encompasses both science and practice. As a science it includes both empirical and non empirical principles and is strongly interdisciplinary. The main focus is not the health of an individual but rather the health of a population. Research and educational programs in public health address the conditions required for health and the causes of disease, the interactions between people and their natural, technical and social environment, health promotion and disease management, the achievements of the health system and the possibility to guide and direct health care politics and to evaluate and secure the quality of health care delivery. The course specialization „Verwalten und Führen im Gesundheitswesen / Health Administration and Management“ provides the theoretical foundation and practical abilities and competencies required for jobs in the areas of public health sciences, public health and population medicine in research, education, management, administration, politics, and industry.
A specific focus is placed on the content and tasks of public administration and the public health system and the arising topics relevant to these areas.
